Every 90 minutes, doctors deliver a new Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a progressive and fatal neurodegenerative disease that affects thousands of individuals worldwide. This devastating disease not only robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, swallow, and breathe but also presents immense challenges for their families and caregivers. ALS has a profound impact on the lives of those affected, drastically diminishing their quality of life and presenting significant financial burdens due to the costs of medical care, equipment, and caregiving support.

Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for ALS, and those diagnosed with the disease face immense challenges as it progresses. MongoDB has chosen to partner with Racing for ALS, a non profit organization with a mission to use high performance driving events to build ALS awareness and to battle ALS head on with a Triple Target Funding model that supports focused pharma research, no placebo clinical trials and individual ALS patients in need. Our goal is to raise $400,000 for Racing for ALS to help speed up a cure for this terrible disease. In addition, we are sponsoring the newest annual race, #Racing4Kendrick, in honor of a member of our own MongoDB team who is currently battling ALS. We are asking our community to join us in the fight against ALS and help us bring hope to those living with this devastating disease.
